More Progress Upstairs

We continue to work hard on the upstairs.  This is the picture of the custom bathroom vanity in the master bath which sits across from the fireplace.  Bob (who made the kitchen cabinets) made this along with all the cabinetry in the master closet.
Jason has been working all week on the tile in the master bath.  Wade worked hard on the design...we are using carrara marble throughout.  We also put in heated floors in the master bath.   This first picture shows the floor where we are using the greek key pattern on the perimeter.
The next picture shows the shower floor which has a basketweave tile and then the carrara subway tile going up the sides.  He will be adding "picture frames" of the basketweave tile on the walls as well.
This is looking towards the tub deck where you can see the floor with the greek key pattern again....

The new jetted tub waits on the main staircase...
Jose has been busy sheetrocking...here he is working on the master bedroom.

This is the new wall in the master bedroom...the entrance to the jack and jill bathroom used to be on the left and the closet used to be on the right...the closet is now accessed by the adjacent bedroom.
We continue to try and keep the downstairs clean since all the hardwood floors have been refinished.  This is standing in the dining room looking towards the living room...
This is the living room (with the leaning palm tree donated by Jose)...

Jason's first project was the kitchen backsplash which is carrara marble subway tile with a herringbone accent above the cooktop...
Down in the basement we have a new 75 gallon high efficiency water heater which will serve the whole house...
We also have a new sub panel to help accomodate all the new electrical...

Upstairs Progress

This past month we've been working on the upstairs master bath/closet and laundry room.  We are taking the bedroom next to the master and turning it into the master bath and closet.  This has involved a lot of plumbing and electrical work.  Similar to the kitchen, Wade has done all the design and planning work.

This first picture is of the soon to be upstairs laundry room.  The plumber has been working on running the gas lines and all the plumbing.
This picture is standing in the shower and looking back towards the closet and vanity area....the vanity will be across from the fireplace.  We will then have a dressing/sitting area in front of the bay windows.

This is looking in towards the closet.  The vanity will go on the other side of the closet, across from the fireplace.  We are also working on putting a gas insert into the fireplace and refacing it.
This is the bathroom floor with all the new plumbing and electrical.  Wade and Jose spent a good part of Saturday installing the sub-floor which ended up taking a lot longer than anticipated as they worked around all the plumbing and old electrical conduit and made sure it was the right level and ready for the tile to be set.
This is the ceiling above bath area...you can see the duct work Wade was working on for 1 of the fans.

The new dumpster finally arrived today...just in time to start emptying out the master bedroom which was full of all the demo materials.
This shows the walls that Wade and Jose built on Sunday that frame in the toilet and then serve as the back of the shower.
Wade also spent a lot of time this past weekend working on the venting duct work for the master bath.  He ran the ducts across the ceiling of the master bath and the through the adjacent small bedroom.  The picture below is of the small bedroom's closet where the duct work then runs down to hook up with the venting out through the kitchen.  We're hoping this will work so we don't have to put a new hole to the exterior on the 2nd floor.
